Dynasty League Rules – (Updated for 2020)
Overview
This will be a fantasy football league centered on a “dynasty” concept. Players, unless dropped by an owner, will
remain on a roster from year-to-year. The league will consist of 12 franchises.
League Fees
Each franchise will be required to pay league fees once a year. The league fees are currently $100 per owner.
There will be no charge for free agent or trading activity.
Schedule
Divisions were removed for the 2020 season. The schedule will be weighted based on each team's order of finish in the prior season. This will result in the team that won the prior season having a more difficult schedule than the team who finished last in the standings.
Playoffs
Six of the twelve franchises will make the playoffs (Weeks 14-16). The top two teams will receive a bye in Week 14.
Tiebreakers
Tiebreakers for standings and draft order:
Rookie Draft
Each spring/summer, the league will hold a Rookie draft. This draft will consist of four rounds.
Each round will draft in the 1-12 format (no serpentine style). Draft order will be based on the prior year’s finish.
For example, the worst team in the league will pick first in each round, and the Fantasy Bowl winner will pick
twelfth.
In this draft, only rookies are eligible to be drafted.
Rosters will always have a maximum of 33 players. After the rookie draft each year, each owner will be given roughly a week to trim his roster back down to 33.
Starting Lineups
While roster limitations do not have any requirements as to how many of each position an owner has, the starting
lineups are defined as follows
• 1 Quarterback
• 2 Running Backs
• 2 Wide Receivers
• 1 Flex (RB/WR/TE)
• 1 Tight End
• 1 Kicker
• 2 Defensive Lineman
• 2 Linebacker
• 2 Defensive Back
• 1 Defensive Flex (DL/LB/DB)
Roster Requirements
As noted above, each team can have at a maximum 33 players. A franchise’s 33 players can have any mix/makeup of the 8 different positions the league starts on a weekly basis during the regular season. There will be no minimum or maximum limits.
Injured Reserve (updated for 2020)
This league is based on the NFL, and players tend to be injured from time to time. Naturally, to be a successful
league, we need to be cognizant of this reality. An injured player may be placed on IR. An “injured player” is
listed as Doubtful or Out on the weekly injury report. The Injured Reserve spot is designated for up to ten players
during the 2020 NFL season. This accounts for any implications of COVID-19 and/or the NFL's revised short-term IR approach. Injured Reserve will become an option in the week leading up to the regular season (Week 1).
The injured reserve designation, during the fantasy season, does not count toward your active roster. Any player an owner places on IR must be out (not playing in or “active”/dressed) for every game he is on IR. If a player an owner has placed on IR plays in a game, that owner will lose the ability to utilize that player in question for the remainder of the season. (Essentially, that player is "locked".)

Any and all scoring nuances are defined on www.rtsports.com. The league will use decimal scoring and negative scoring where applicable.

Website
The league will use a website, www.rtsports.com, to host league activities. All transactions and trades must be made and verified via the website. Naturally, this involves a cost. This cost will be deducted from the overall league payout.
League Payouts
The league will pay out all league fees (minus website costs, and perhaps a trophy) in the form of league fees as
follows:
• Fantasy Bowl Winner – 50%
• Fantasy Bowl Runner-up – 25%
• 3rd Place Playoff Finisher – 15%
• Regular Season Champion – 10%
Free Agency
From the initial draft up until the Saturday prior to Week 1 of the NFL Season, there will be open free agency. Each transaction will be made online through the website, and must be accompanied with a player dropped.
During each week of the fantasy season (Fantasy Week 2 – Playoff Week 3) free agency will be conducted as follows
• Each Wednesday at 10pm, one round of waivers will take place on a worst-to-first basis. This order will be
based on season record (with points as a tiebreaker).
• Each Thursday at 9am, free agency will return as an open format, up until 1pm on Sunday.
Free agency is frozen up until March 1st, at which point players on IR must be placed on a roster or dropped to free agency. From March 1st until the rookie draft, there will be an open free agency period.
Setting Rosters
Rosters must be set on the website by game time on Sunday.
Trading
Trading of players, current draft picks, or future draft picks may begin anytime after the draft order has been
established. There is no monetary cost attached to making a trade.
All trades are subject to commissioner approval.
On a weekly basis, trades must initially be completed by Saturday at 9:00pm. The trading deadline for the season will Week 11.
Rules Changes
This is not meant to be the end all on rules for the league. If anyone notices that I have missed something, please let me know now. I have tried to cover everything, but I would much rather have issues of contention raised now, prior to the draft and prior to the season, than during the year or after one year has been completed.
Commissioner Power
I’d rather take a backseat in running things, and let the league mostly run itself. However, I will hold the right to
step up and take action if necessary. If you are going to join the league, make sure you will not be an asshole or
act shady…..or we really do not need you.
