FFL: Week 10 | NFL: Week 10

Week 8 - Recap

By The Commissioner Wed Oct 29 7:42pm CT

Week 8 was dubbed Bye-Maggedon as the NFL had six teams off on bye, the largest this season.  As such, there were concerns about player availability and whether teams could put a solid team out to compete.  Looking across the field, it appears most were able to manage the vacancies but then there were the injuries again.  We saw Quishon Judkins and Cam Skattebo join the list of lost and forgottens.  I hope we make it through the season.  Let’s how the week ended.

This week’s Game of the Week was Clown Baby (3-4) vs. SNOOP HOG (3-4).  This was a battle of teams tied for third place in the Errors & Omissions Division, the final playoff position.  SNOOP HOG had the edge after winning their first matchup in Week 1 but was on a two-game losing streak, while Clown Baby was on a two-game win streak.  SNOOP HOG jumped out earlier after picking up 12 points from Kimani Vidal on Thursday night.  He followed that up with two additional double-digit scorers on Sunday with Box Nix (28) and Derrick Henry (17).  Clown Baby answered back with a few double-digit scorers of his own with Chase McLaughlin (20), Javonte Williams (14), and Tee Higgins (11).  However, he also had two players that scored -1 points (Baker Mayfield & Bijan Robinson) unexpectedly and it put a fork in his chances to win.  SNOOP HOG (4-4) defeated Clown Baby (3-5) 84-56 and has solid control of third place.

This week’s most explosive game was The Faulk Yo’ Couch Ninjas! (5-2) vs. The Official’s Timeout (4-3).  The Ninjas got an outstanding performance from Jonathan Taylor (36), which is becoming a norm for him, and great play from Daniel Jones (24), Rashee Rice (12), and Devon Achane (10).  The Official’s Timeout tried to keep up with Jordan Love (30) and Javonte Williams, but he didn’t have enough.  The Faulk Yo’ Couch Ninja! (6-2) defeated The Official’s Timeout (4-4) 104-68.

This week’s most competitive game was Deez Nuts (0-7) vs. The Action Jacksons (7-0).  These two were the complete opposite, one undefeated and one winless, so didn’t expect to see this game as the most competitive.  Deez Nuts struck first with Cameron Dicker (14) on Thursday night, though, he also had zero from Keenan Allen that night.  The Action Jacksons got going on Sunday with Jaylen Waddle (14) and Devon Achane but also suffered two players with zero points.  Deez Nuts got another bump in scoring with Joe Flacco (26) and held a 63-44 lead by the end of the night, but The Action Jacksons still had another player to go, Patrick Mahome.  Being down 19 points and having Patrick Mahome left looked favorable for The Actions Jacksons.  But, Mahome could only manage 18 points and Deez Nuts (1-7) edged out The Action Jacksons (7-1) by one point, 63-62.  This victory ended The Action Jacksons undefeated streak and broke Deez Nuts’ winless drought for his first win of the season.  Congratulations!

Another game of interest was West Point Green Waves (5-2) vs. REGULATORS (7-0).  It wasn’t as close as the last game, but it had similar results.  The REGULATORS was the second of two remaining undefeated teams.  We just saw The Action Jackson go down and the REGULATORS followed.  He had a strong showing with four players in double figures, led by Drake Maye (26), New England Patriots (14) and Tee Higgins, but the Green Waves had better with five double-digit scorers, led by James Cook (32), Joe Flacco, and New England Patriots.  The West Point Green Waves (6-2) washed the REGULATORS (7-1) out, 99-71.  Now, there are no more undefeated or winless teams left.

Next week's Game of the Week is Dart Dynasty (4-4) vs. The Pug Mafia (5-3).  This is a matchup of Knuckleheads Division foes battling for position.

See you next week!!!
