With our first bye week in the books, we found that most teams were not fazed by it at all due to their depth. We saw another week of strong individual performances, but teams had another week of injuries to deal with as well. If this continues, bye weeks will start to become more difficult to manage. In the meantime, let’s see how this week closed out.
This week’s Game of the Week was Clown Baby (1-3) vs. Dak to the Future (0-4). This was a matchup of last place teams trying to get right before their season slips away. To make the matchup even more enticing, this was family affair where father and son faced off. Clown Baby was in better shape having had one win on the season while Dak to the Future was still searching for his first. They both knew what was on the line and came with it! Clown Baby had five players in double digits, led by Justin Fields (21) and Javonte Williams (19). Dak to the Future only had four players in double digits but had larger outputs, led by Dak Prescott (35) and Jonathan Taylor (26). In the end, Dak to the Future was super bad, winning 106-83. Dak to the Future (1-4) pick up his first win on the season and bragging rights over Clown Baby (1-4).
This week’s most explosive game was 4 the Loot (1-3) vs. The Pug Mafia (2-2). The Pug Mafia exploded this week scoring 110 points, with five players scoring in double digits, led by Jonathan Taylor, Kyren Williams (18), Daniel Jones (17), and David Montgomery (17). The Pug Mafia moved to 3-2 on the 110-50 victory over 4 the Loot (1-4) and picked up his first division win in this divisional matchup.
This week’s most competitive games were Dart Dynasty (3-1) vs. Cooper Road Cougars (2-2) and The Dream Killers (2-2) vs. Louisianimal Ratchet (2-2).
In the first game, Dart Dynasty and Cooper Road Cougars went back and forth on Sunday exchanging blows, and Dart Dynasty held a 65-47 lead by the end of the night. She still had a player to go for the Monday Night Football (MNF) game while the Cougars had two players to go. And in that MNF game, they each got three points from their player for a push, but the Cougars also picked up 19 points from Patrick Mahomes, which gave him the 69-68 comeback win. This was the second consecutive comeback win for the Cooper Road Cougars, bringing him to 3-2, while Dart Dynasty dropped to 3-2. It seems like the Cougars may have figured something out.
The second game was so close it ended in an 84-84 tie. Both The Dream Killers and Louisianimal Ratchets had five players in double digits and both were led by Ja’Marr Chase (27). This is the second tie of the season; however, the first one was overturned after an NFL game scoring adjustment broke the tie. We will see if this tie holds or if one of them picks up a win later this week. In the meantime, these two are now 2-2-1.
Next week's Game of the Week is REGULATORS (5-0) vs. Uptown Hot Boys (4-1). This is a battle of 1st and 2nd place teams in the Five Good Minutes Division and for the division lead.
See you next week!!!
