Week 4 was another good week for fantasy with some good point-totals from players. However, it was another bad week for fantasy due to more injuries suffered. We saw a few more players lost to season ending injuries, the biggest being Malik Nabers and Tyreek Hill. There were also a couple of quarterbacks, Lamar Jackson & Brock Purdy, that got injured too but are not season ending. It is starting to get rough out there! Again, this is where roster depth and management become important. Let’s see how the rest of the week turned out, geez.
This week’s Game of the Week was Gatorbait (2-1) vs. West Point Green Waves (3-0). This was a battle of 1st and 2nd place teams in the Errors & Omissions Division that was battling for the second time this season. Gatorbait was trying to get even after losing their first matchup and the Green Waves was trying to keep the winning flow going. And even though it was a different game, the results were the same. The Green Waves had four players in double-digits, led by Bucky Irving (21), and Gatorbait only had two led by Josh Jacob (21). The Green Waves (4-0) were too much for Gatorbait (2-2) to take a chomp out of as they defeated him 71-58. The Green Waves now have a comfortable lead in the division.
This week’s most explosive game was Jones Boys (1-2) vs. San Antonio Shockers (1-2). This game was so explosive that both teams topped the century mark this week! These two were battling HARD to get back to .500. Jones Boys had six players in double digits, led by Dak Prescott (35) and Puka Nacua (14), while the Shockers had five, led by Ashton Jeanty (35) and Omarion Hampton (22). These two kept throwing haymakers throughout the matchup and took the battle into the Monday Night Football (MNF) game, where the Shockers held on to a 13-point lead. The Shockers still had two players left and Jones Boys had one to go, making it an uphill battle for Jones Boys. By night’s end, the Shockers picked up only 3 points from his two players while Jones Boys scored 12 points from Devon Achane, but it wasn’t enough, and the San Antonio Shockers (2-2) held off Jones Boys (1-3) for the 106-102 victory. This was one hell of a game!
This week’s most competitive games were Dak to the Future (0-3) vs Uptown Hot Boys (2-1) and Cooper Road Cougars (1-2) vs. New Kid on the Block (3-0).
In the first game, both teams had four players scoring in double digits, but the Uptown Hot Boys (3-1) were Too Hot for Dak to the Future (0-4), winning 78-75.
In the second game, the New Kid on the Block led the way with five double-digit scorers compared to the Cougars’ four players. However, this was a different neighborhood, and the Cougars (2-2) welcomed the New Kid on the Block (3-1) to the Cooper Road with an 86-83 victory. This gave the New Kid on the Block her first loss of the season and the Cooper Road Cougars pulled within a game behind her in their division (Big Finish).
Next week's Game of the Week is Clown Baby (1-3) vs. Dak to the Future (0-4). This is a matchup on the other end of the spectrum with a battle between two last place teams. This is also a family affair so there will be bragging rights involved.
See you next week!!!
